Cogita’s associates provide individualized mentoring for secondary school students. Mentors meet on a one-to-one basis, both face-to-face and online, providing personalized advice on academic and social life.
Cogita’s mentoring program focuses on helping students to develop positive relationships with older peers and with transitions from middle school to high school and high school to college.
These relationships take on a different character than those with teachers, tutors, or parents, and can be critical to keeping students from falling into common pitfalls of youth. Additionally, the practice of recognizing and seeking guidance prepares students for the networking and social connections necessary for success in personal professional life. Responding to the particular needs of each family, Cogita also offers individual advising services, including:
Academic and extra-curricular planning.
Consistent meetings to discuss goals, social issues, and the role of the student in the world as a positive agent.
Assistance on how to approach and communicate with teachers and fellow students.
School and social life adjustment for international students.
Regular 'check-ins' to provide support and motivation.
Communications with school/teachers/counselors (as necessary).
Connections to conferences, events, and performances related to student interests.
Guidance for programs, competitions, and scholarships related to student interests.
On-call emergency assistance.
